Okay I know it's been FOREVER since I posted and I know this is the worst thing to start posting with but I was super excited!

First these are two ideas for the wreaths at my church, which do you like better? And no they are not the same! ;-)

I know no one really cares about this, but it was so cool I had to tell someone. I paid out of pocket: $40.67-$5 off my next purchase that I forgot to use this time, and two free movie tickets ($16 for 2 tickets).

Yes you are looking at it, $1.04 per item!!!
Just to be annoying here is a list of the items:
2 boxes of Banana Nut Cheerios, 1 honey nut Cheerios, 3 boxes of Cinnamon toast crunch, 2 5lb bags of potatoes, 1 gallon of vit D milk, 1 bag of dairy free chocolate chips, 2 containers of blue bunny ice cream, 4lb bag of sugar cane sugar (not beet sugar which is what most kinds are), garlic powder, 8 boxes of cake mix, 1 large container of dish soap, 1 container of overnight diapers, and 1 pack of regular diapers (pampers mind you ;-)), salt, 5 yogurts, and 2 avocados. For a grand total of 34 items!

So with all these school deals, I've decided to start a system. I am going to make up points for anyone who wants stuff. That way the kids have to do some work for Axe products or school things. So maybe doing some yard work, will give you X amount of points and then before you leave you can redeem them. Seth suggested if you watch TV or play the computer you get points taken away! :-) We'll have to see!

So we have 2 large packages of feminine "thing", 2 stretch book covers (orange and black--go Burlington), 1 pack of #2, 1 body wash, 2 plastic rulers (good "time out" tools), 2 protractors, 2 packs of 3 glue sticks, 2 spiral bound notebooks, and 2 folders! For.........
$5 out of pocket, and got back $22

4 boxes of 12 pk cans, 2 rulers, 2 stretch book covers (awesome argyle), 2 packs of yellow sticky notes, 1 body wash, and 2 projectors.

This was Seth's purchase (ie. the soda!), he spent $14 and got $17 back
The soda was 4/$8 which is the best price I've ever seen!

This is just a funny picture of the reciept, the extra money (ECB's) print out at the end of the reciept. So I think I've even topped mothers longest reciept! Mine was over 5'! :-)

I know this isn't super exciting but I was excited. Target had a huge toy clearance sale, I bought $445. 29 worth of stuff for $140.44! That is 37 toys, games, and other fun stuff! I was sooo excited! But I couldn't take pictures because then people would know what they are getting for Christmas, and birthdays!

We went to a beach one day in Two Rivers, the water was freezing and icky but the sand was great!

I just wanted to give an update on my surgery. The doctor on Tuesday said all looked well and I was healing very nicely. And didn't seem at all concerned that I was in intense pain! ;-) I guess I am just a wimp, sorry mom! ;-) So recovery is slow, and painful. I really have to just semi lay in bed, and walk around occasionally. Problem is, if you know me, you know I hate just sitting around. I love doing, and for some reason I have had trouble sleeping. So like last night I spent the entire night wide awake, come morning I got upset and did laundry, dishes, and cleaned out my closet, and bathroom top to bottom. Needless to say, that was a very bad idea, because I have been in more pain now then I have been since I came out of surgery. But the Lord has taught me a lot through this, patience is one big thing, and that this body is not perfect and it will fall apart no matter what you may think. My husband has been the most wonderful thing in the whole world, we've had some problems, but for the most part he is so loving and kind. He feeds me, helps me bathe, even does my couponing for me! YES couponing, today we went to Copps, Walgreens, and Target, tomorrow Target, Menards, Walgreens, and Walmat, and of course the dry cleaning that I dropped off before Christmas and had forgotten about! ;-) What a totally awesome man! He even got me yellow flowers to chear me up!
I do miss my sisters and friends, I would love visitors, although I know for most that's impossible, but e-mails or phone calls are great. I will admit there are times when I am in too much pain to answer so just leave a message and I'll get back. Oh and if you do come over, do forgive the somewhat messy house, and my wearing mens boxers, they are the only thing that is comfortable! ;-) Well my meds are starting to kick in so I should try to sleep right away! Love all of you! Molly

As many of you already know I will be having surgery tomorrow morning, so please pray that every thing goes well. I am sure it will, it's just recovery that's going to be a pain! ;-) I will respond to the modesty post, hopefully next week when I am resting. So not sure who all even looks at this, but I found a really neat site about modesty. I know in Baptist circles there are so many different definitions of modesty. It needs to be between you and the Lord. But I found this website, and this week it's modesty fashion week, click on the picture above or http://sahmissionary.blogspot.com/, read the notes from this past week. I am not saying I agree with everything, but it's such a good message and good thoughts to think about. Many things you may know, but it's always good to rethink your wardrobe. On this site, there is a guest post with a modesty checklist, http://girltalk.blogs.com/girltalk/files/modesty_heart_check3.pdf. I loved one thing in particular that I read, even though we may be stay at home--mothers, wives, or just a woman, our dressing should always reflect the Lord. As someone meantioned, the Proverbs 31 woman, had so many attributes, but what she wore was also included. She dressed like a princess to the King of Kings. Every morning when we get up and get dressed for the day, do we dress like we are princesses? I don't mean jewels and silks, although that would be awesome, but spending time on how we look. Unless we are painting or cleaning, dressing nice should be the norm, and it can be comfortable! I am just thinking about times when I just throw on whatever and go shopping, but honestly what are the people out there seeing? A princess? I guess I really never thought about it in this way, putting on some lipstick, or a nice shirt, can go a long way, then my running out in jeans and a junky sweater. Now we are all human and things happen, we won't always be able to do this, but even just trying can go a long way. As I type this I realize that it's time to get out of my pjs, and get dressed! I am going to go out today knowing that I am a princess and my father is the greatest King that's ever lived!

I just read about a group on facebook that is about 'our soldiers are not heroes. This is what I posted on the group that want's that site gone. I know I love him and miss him as much as the rest of the family does, but I know we are all so proud of him!

My daddy's my hero! He's over serving in Iraq, left behind a family that loves him and is so proud of him serving our country! Holiday's aren't the same, at Thanksgiving there wasn't anyone to sit around and finish off everyone's left overs. And Christmas there wasn't anyone to pick up all the wrapping paper from the presents and help put all the toys together. Birthday's aren't the same with out funny presents that could only be bought from daddy. But daddy we love you and we stand behind you in every way, holding down the fort until you come home. Your sons and son-in-laws are stepping up to help keep the cars running and the appliances in working order. Your daughters and daughter-in-law are helping mom with grocery shopping and with the little ones! We can't wait for you to come home, but we are so grateful for your service to our country ~ love you oldest daughter

Prayer

In todays day it seems like everything is going wrong. My dad is in Iraq, while my mother is home with 7 kids, one with cancer, 1 teenage boy (we all know about that :-)), and in the process of adopting the 2 youngest. My sister is cancer free, but it'll be a long journey. Our aunt is going in for open heart surgery as I type this. And to think this morning I was worrying about a vacuum, the fact that my car randomly flashes it's lights and rolls down the windows, that I need to go and shovel my drive way.
These little things were stressing me out, and what did I want to do, just complain. And then to hear that my aunt is strugling for her life, while I complain about snow. Lord! Please help me see things how You would, help me be more like You! I remember when I first heard about my sister Kel and the cancer. I couldn't imagine why God would do something, and then I remembered that He IS in control of everything, He KNOWS all. I learned so much from that and yet I seem to slip back into my self centeredness. Thank you Lord for helping me see how much more I need to grow in You. Thank you for giving us your Word to help us grow and lean on you. We serve an awesome God, even though we don't understand why He does what he does. I just felt like sharing a piece of my heart, thanks for listening.

I just felt like writing about my 'blessings' weekend as I am calling it. (I will post pics tomorrow) First I found out some good news at the doctors, or as good news as surgery is. Got to spend some time with my family, who I love and miss. Got to see my sister, Kelly, who is cancer free and doing awesome. My other sister, her husband, and niece! All gorgeous and wonderful!! My brother Noah's birthday! Glad he liked the "Axe" products but we'll have to do something about the sweater, he didn't like that so much! Getting to see Sam, how he's grown, and become so strange! ;-) Mary Clare who is almost more of an adult then the 3 of us older girls together. Her awesome calligraphy, which I am going to hire her to do some work for me. Josiah, who has a awesome house, with chairs and a book shelf with a ton of cool books on it, in his game that I can't spell. And as always it's awesome to see my 2 youngest siblings John and Joy, crazy, funny, and most of all lovable! I am so blessed to have such an awesome family. And to top it all off, my mother! Who gave me a lecture about needing to tough it up and get over being scared, and encouraged me in my devo's and walk with the Lord. And what can be more important then our walk with the Lord. Mother and I may not always agree, but it's so wonderful to share a sisterhood in Christ with her. Now the weekend would have been perfect except daddy is serving our country and couldn't make it back this weekend! ;-) And Fred and Mel must enjoy the warm weather too much!
We were able to do some fun things as well, I went ice scating on the lake for the first time in years! I majorly sucked at it, but I did get out there and gave it a try. I wore my dads snow pants, my brothers HUGE Miami Dolphins jackets, some big black gloves with a hole in the thumb and a purply headband thing to keep my ears warm, oh and to top it off, my dads winter boots that are 10 sizes to big! It was fun, it was snowing so hard, but it was great!! A funny story about this weekend, mother and I went to the store to get some groceries. Got back to the car, while it was snowing heavly the entire time, and my windows were all the way down. Don't know how they got that way but they were and the car was full of snow! What fun!
My weekend go better on Sunday, with a safe ride up to church, and a good encouraging message about the sanctity of life, and how every life is sacred to God. And how in our country and state we need to be helping and praying for pregnancy care centers. A somewhat enjoyable meal, although heavy, of burgers from Red Robin. Which I got a awesome surprise, Steph my cousin was there! She normally doesn't work on Sunday but is, so she can come up for cousins weekend. It's so nice to see family in my 'neck of the woods' and to see I am not alone up here! She's so sweet! Had a somewhat restful afternoon of resting and cutting out coupons and figureing out deals for the week (kel that comment is for you! ;-)). And then tonight on the way to church I got 6 reeses whips, razor and 4 bottles of Axe for free!!! Sweet. Then a great service at my church, Joe Fox (our youth pastor) did a presentation about technology and how to use it wisely, for parents in regards to their children. It was awesome! Really showed that it can be used for good, and how you need to guard the TV, internet, cell phone and mp3players, with as much discretion as you would anything else in your Christian walk. It was video taped, so I am sending 1 to mom and dad. Went back to Walgreens, where I did the deal above and got renolds wrap, 6 reeses and a razor for -$1. Meaning they paid me a $1 to buy the stuff!!! Awesome!! Seth and I had a good ride home, and now I am resting just thinking about how blessed I am! I love you all!

The best thing to do to start couponing is to get Sunday papers, one local one (for local deals) and a big city one (ie Chicago, Milwaukee). You can look up the item that you are looking for and it will show you what coupons they have to offer. Many times you have to order a certain number of them, and double check when they are going to send them out, it say's it on the left side. Also occasionally check ebay, but don't get carried away, unless it's an awesome deal you usually don't need 10 plus of them.

I thought I'd give you a taste of what can be yours. There is a grocery store in our area called Festival. They had skippy peanut butter for $1 with in store coupon, and Ragu pasta sauce for $1. I ordered 20, 50cent coupons on 2 ragu sauses, and 60cents off skippy peanut butter. So I got 75 cent ragu and 40cent skippy. With deals like these it may be a good idea to stock up and get a pantry. We had a awesome holiday vacation, visiting both sides of the family and getting to see siblings that we don't get to see all that often! Although we sorely missed daddy!

Seth and I were invited to our Church's "Staff Party" since I am now in charge of the flowers at our church. The theme of the night was the Clue game. So I came dressed as......drum roll please.....can you guess????? Yes I came as Miss Scarlet! Seth wonderfully dressed up at Colonel Mustard! We went with our Youth Pastor and his wife, they dressed up at Professor Plum and Mrs. Peacock. It was a wonderful night of fellowship, talking, laughing (there was a segment of the night of funny videos, and one of the kids from the youth group put together a "sermon" that Pastor preached, cutting and pasting in, it sounded like Pastor said all sort of funny things, like the woman's movement is what we should be doing, and we should all be discontent and work on it) eating, and of course playing live clue! I've never been to a live clue game myself, so it was a first. Our Pastors home was just amazing! Gorgeous! And we were looking in every corner we could find! My team won!! But we are talking about little line 1-2 inch pewter pieces, they were hard to find, I only found the rope, but good thing my team was better! We are looking forward to Christmas vacation and visiting family, I'll post pictures after the holiday's of our vacation! Merry Christmas!

Well the 3 weeks of Seth being gone are coming to a close. He should be arriving at the Austen/Strabel airport Sunday night. He has been working nights so it will be a transition for him to get back to days, but he has off on Monday. I am still sick with this stupid flu that doesn't seem to want to go away. But Kelly's walk/run is coming up and I have to make chocolates for it, and if I don't get better soon, they won't get done. So if anyone feels like coming up to my house to help me make these yellow chocolate ribbons, that would be awesome!

Molly is down visiting her family. She went to her brother Sam's soccer game yesterday. Then came to her parents house and is spending a few days here visiting family. Her dad is leaving for Iraq this next week and her sister Kelly is still very sick from Chemo. Seth started working in Connecticut, he said they are very laid back and so work should be interesting. The plant there is a lot larger then where he is at right now. Hopefully he'll have fun and learn something while he's there! Well fall has certainly started to show it's head, time to give up t-shirts for sweaters!!!

Yes this is my very funny husband. Please pray for him as he is heading out to Connecticut to work an outage there. That means long hours, and little else to do but sleep. And also for me as I'll be staying here in Wisconsin the entire 3 weeks. He'll be leaving Saturday at 10 and getting back in 3 weeks on a Sunday night around 8. I know I'll be missing him sorely as he's gone, but it's a good opportunity for him.
